The app does cost but it’s a relatively small dollar figure when you remember you are getting a second screen. My opinion is that for the $15 one time purchase you can hardly go wrong if you can have a second display that's not chained to WiFi. Once you have purchased, there's no subscription fee or monthly membership; it's an app purchase. If you can increase your productivity and work easier, $15 seems a pretty small price to pay.
