Figma Q3 Revenue +43% to $391M; AI Costs Weigh

Figma reported third-quarter 2026 financial results on November 4, 2026, delivering revenue growth of 43% year-over-year to $391.4 million, $16.4 million above the high-end of prior guidance. The company posted adjusted earnings per share of 10 cents versus 5 cents expected, while revenue came in at $391.4 million versus $375.8 million expected. Despite beating analyst expectations, the design software company’s stock declined as investors weighed the costs associated with its aggressive AI expansion strategy.

Strong Revenue Growth Driven by AI Adoption
Figma delivered $391 million in revenue in Q3, up 43% year over year and $16 million above the high end of prior guidance. The company’s performance was fueled by continued seat expansion and growing adoption of its artificial intelligence features across enterprise customers.
CFO Praveer Melwani noted that “Q3 revenue grew 43% year-over-year, coming in well ahead of our prior guidance as customers continued to expand seats and invest more deeply in Figma,” adding that “We’re seeing customers move from trying AI to making larger commitments, and the Figma agent is expanding how they use credits across our platform”.
Net loss narrowed to $81.3 million, or 15 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1.10 billion, or $2.72 per share, a year earlier. The company’s 12% adjusted operating margin exceeded the 6.1% consensus among analysts polled by StreetAccount.
AI Features Expanding Customer Engagement
Figma’s AI tools are gaining significant traction among its largest customers. The company reported that more than 80% of large paid customers were using AI credits weekly during the quarter. Weekly AI-credit users at organizations spending more than $10,000 increased nearly 50% during Q3, according to the company’s earnings announcement.

In Q3, Figma added more than 600 paid customers with more than $10,000 in ARR and more than 80 paid customers with more than $100,000 in ARR. The company’s Q3 net dollar retention rate was 131%, indicating existing customers are expanding their usage of the platform.
CEO Dylan Field stated, “As code becomes a commodity, value is moving up the stack to designโand our Q3 results reflect that. We’re building the full-stack canvas for visual-first development: one that’s built for collaboration, increasingly powered by our first-party model and native to the way teams design and build with AI”.
Proprietary AI Model Shifts Cost Structure
Figma is expanding monetization of its AI features, including Figma Agent and its proprietary design model. The company is working to improve margins by shifting more AI workloads to its own model rather than relying on third-party providers. The share of work handled by Figma’s own model more than doubled between July and the end of October, according to reports.

The AI agent became generally available in October, marking a significant milestone in Figma’s product evolution. However, the AI push is increasing usage while also raising delivery costs in the near term, creating investor concerns about profitability despite strong top-line growth.
Guidance Raised Despite Growth Deceleration
Executives lifted the full-year forecast, with Figma now anticipating an 11% operating margin, up from 9% as of August, and $1.497 billion to $1.499 billion in revenue, compared with $1.463 billion to $1.467 billion before. Analysts surveyed by LSEG were looking for $1.471 billion in 2026 revenue.
The company sees fourth-quarter revenue growth slowing to about 33%, down from the 43% growth rate achieved in Q3. The company is trading off short-term revenue for long-term benefits, finance chief Praveer Melwani said.

Market Reaction and Financial Position
Shares have come down about 41% so far in 2026, while the S&P 500 index has gained 12%. The stock decline on November 4 reflected investor concerns about the pace of growth deceleration and the investments required to scale Figma’s AI capabilities.

The company finished Q3 with $1.7 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities, providing ample resources to fund its AI development initiatives. Q3 operating income was $47 million, a 12% operating margin, while Q3 free cash flow was $42 million, a margin of 11%.
