Which Golf Stars Should You Watch Out for in 2023?

Golf Stars Should You Watch Out for

The 2022 golf season was an epic one. It was a year in which the likes of Cameron Smith, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Scottie Scheffler came to the fore. Those three golf stars wrapped up three of the majors on offer in 2022, with Justin Thomas picking up the other. The 29-year-old American won the PGA Championship for the second time in his career, five years on from his first success. These golf stars are really investing in high-quality golf bag accessories as they find them very useful in storing their golf equipment during the game. As well, they invest in high-quality practice gear as well.  The right practice equipment, like a practice golf mat from The Left Rough that simulates the real thing is important when you want to improve your game.

But which golf stars should we be keeping our eyes on throughout 2023?

Rory McIlroy

One man who will be looking to improve in the 2023 season is Northern Ireland’s, Rory McIlroy. Despite being the current World number one, an honor which he has held for over two years, McIlroy hasn’t won a major since 2014. He did finish as runner-up to Scottie Scheffler in the Masters last year, however, and experts in the live betting business have tipped him to end his barren spell in 2023.

Scottie Scheffler

2022 was the breakout golf season of Scottie Scheffler. The young American has threatened to win a major in recent years. He finished in fourth place at the PGA Championship in 2020, before having an impressive year in 2021. That year, he finished in eighth place at the PGA Championship and at The Open Championship, as well as finishing in seventh at the US Open.

This year, however, he has finally managed to fulfill his potential. He picked up the Masters title back in April, before finishing second at The Open at St. Andrews. Had he managed to close the two-stroke gap to eventual winner Cameron Smith, he would have become the first player since Brooks Koepka in 2018 to win two majors in a calendar year. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see the 26-year-old achieve the feat this year.

Matt Fitzpatrick

Another golf star who had an incredible 2022 was Matt Fitzpatrick. The Yorkshireman finished in fifth place at the PGA Championship, just two strokes behind eventual winner Justin Thomas. He would put that disappointment behind him the following month though when he won the US Open.

His victory made him the first player from England to win a major since Danny Willet in 2016 and the first Englishman to win the US Open since Justin Rose in 2013.
