Using Instagram Insights for your Business Account

Using Instagram Insights for your Business Account

Marketing on Instagram has taken off and businesses are diving deep into using the tool. This means that measuring their efforts becomes critical. With Instagram Insights, any one with a business account is able to see data relating to their profile and posts. This allows you to understand what kind of content your audience likes to see and from this you can work out how best to post in the future and work at increasing your following. For more details on how to increase your audience on the Instagram platform take a look at the features from SocialMeep.com.

Opening Up Insights

In order to gain access to your profile’s Insights data you need to press on the icon in the top right hand corner. This will bring up a list of options, with ‘Insights’ being one of these. By clicking on this, you will be presented with your ‘Recent Highlights’, which consists of information relating to your overall reach, followers gained, and other measurements of engagement with your profile.

Measuring Reach

Within your Insights, you are able to press on the ‘Accounts Reached’ section and be displayed with statistics relating to the number of individual Instagram users that have seen your posts. ‘Impressions’ represents the number of times that all of your posts have been seen. ‘Account Activity’ is the number of visits that there have been to your profile and includes things such as website taps, amongst other things. ‘Top Posts’, ‘Top Stories’, and ‘Top IGTV Video’ are those pieces of content that have had the widest reach and generated the most engagement.

Tracking Visits And Followers

Whilst in the ‘Recent Highlights’ section of Insights you can see how well your content is performing by pressing on ‘Content Interactions’. Here you are displayed with statistics for how your content is performing in regards to engagement. ‘Likes’ is pretty self explanatory, as it represents the number of likes that your posts have received. ‘Comments’ is the number of comments that Instagram users have left on your posts. ‘Saves’ is the number of times that your posts have been saved. ‘Shared’ represents the number of times that other users have shared your posts with their own followers.

Analyzing Your Followers

From ‘Recent Highlights’ click ‘Followers’ where you will be presented with a breakdown of the followers of your account. It gives you information such as how many followers you have lost and gained over a specified period of time, along with the parts of the day that your followers are most often using the app.

Discovering Posts

The metrics on ‘Impressions’ displays the amount of times that your posts have been discovered in the different areas of Instagram, i.e. ‘From Home’ or ‘From Explore’. It also shows the reach that your posts have had, which is the number of individual accounts that have seen them.

Although there are many other metrics that you can look into with Insights, including those for your Stories, using these Instagram insights are important for measuring your business Instagram activity. Promoting your Instagram is easy when you know how, so use the above techniques to boost your Instagram profile.
