Toni brings all this personal experience to speaking, training, and coaching and shares many of the stories in our interview.
Toni has developed a strategy that she leads individuals and businesses through. It can be boiled down to the acronym: D-R-A-S-T-I-C of course!
How do businesses overcome the mentality of "We can't do that"?
The leader sets the tone. The leader has to show up. Find others who have done it and ask for help. Too often we don't ask. People are so helpful and give you a starting point. The leader needs to work on themselves!
"Work on you so it will flow through"
You have a specialty in email list building. Why is that so important for businesses today?
It's a social media platform.
It's an asset. Sell your business and it is a value adding asset for the business valuation.
Your email is like your wallet, you check it. Let's reach people where they are and it's in their inbox. We don't own social media. We need to use it, but we can't solely rely on that. We own our email list.
You need a opt-in form on your site and be sure to offer a giveaway that is connected to your business as a value-add to encourage the sign-ups. Have it connected to a email marketing service like Contact Contact. Then share that on social media at times to encourage people to come over and join the list to get the resource.
Communicate with audience at least monthly.
What's the business landscape like today that businesses need to be aware of and adjust to?
Technology is here to stay. "Get over it!" You need to adjust to this and use it! They are great tools and they need to be used. Don't be scared, you need to dig in!
What's your "go to" social media platform for your business and why?
Facebook. It's my favorite. My audience is there. I recommend you do this, find out where your audience spends time and be there.
Final Tip?
What's the worst that can happen? Often times the worst is really that bad and it's worth the risk!
Take action! None of this is any good unless you get started!
Say "yes", take a drastic step and get started! Be willing to step out, willing to fail, that's the only way you can achieve is to get moving.

I’m an Indiana Hoosier native where basketball is the top sport. Every team heads to the locker room at halftime to evaluate the first half and create a updated plan for the second half. That plan includes adjustments based on reviewing what worked and what didn't. The “halftime” is a key review point where the game stops, the team pulls away to huddle in the locker room away from the fans, and they come out prepared and ready to succeed in the second half.
That’s what this podcast is all about, taking the time to pull away for a bit to evaluate, learn, and set some strategies for your business to succeed in the second half. Join me by subscribing and let me be your “business halftime” to help you find great success going forward!
