Option Strategies Insider Review: A Service for Everyone

Option Strategies Insider Review: A Service for Everyone

There aren’t as many available platforms designed for options as you’d find for stock trading alone. Even so, there are still plenty of great options that can help options traders get the best possible return from their investments. As you’ve probably guessed, we’ll be covering one of these platforms in this Option Strategies Insider review! We mentioned it’s for “everyone,” but what does that really mean? Fear not: you’ll have your answer by the end of this review!

A Brief Introduction to Options

Options are a little bit different than stocks. With stocks, you can either make a “market order” or a “limit order.” A market order allows investors to buy or sell stocks at the current market price. Regardless of what that may be. This ensures the trade will go through. Limit orders, on the other hand, specify the price an investor is willing to buy or sell at. The trade won’t go through until the required pricing requirements are met.

Options trading revolves around contracts, rather than the stocks themselves. If you purchase a “call option,” you’ve bought a contract that gives you the ability to buy an underlying asset on a specific date for a specific price. Similarly, a “put option” gives you the ability to sell underlying assets for a specific price on a set date. Neither a call nor a put option requires you to buy/sell the asset. The contract simply guarantees that you can!

The Primary Purpose of Option Strategies Insider

Now that you understand how options trading works, let’s get into the actual Option Strategies Insider review. Option Strategies Insider is a service that provides both options trading alerts and educational materials for its members. Many services offer trading alerts for stocks. However, Option Strategies Insider offers them for options trading specifically. That said, it’s important to note that—unlike platforms such as SpeedTrader or TopStepTrader — Option Strategies Insider doesn’t allow you to make trades on its platform. It only provides you with alerts to make your trades. You can think of it as the “Motley Fool for Options!”

All Option Strategies Insider members have access to various educational materials. However, options trade alerts are limited to paid members only. The exact alerts you receive will vary depending on your membership plan.

Educational Opportunities

The plethora of educational material available has been mentioned multiple times in this Option Strategies Insider review, and for good reason. Anyone can take five minutes, make a free account, and start learning more about options trading! You’ll have instant access to both the beginner and intermediate options trading courses. Book recommendations, an options dictionary, webinar training, and access to their dedicated blog are just a few more of the perks you can enjoy with a free membership.

Paying members enjoy all the aforementioned benefits, plus a few new ones. Access to the advanced options course, the “discussion forum,” and an executive research report are some of the educational benefits exclusively offered to paid members.

Membership Costs

Although Option Strategies Insider does offer a free membership, you’ll be making an investment if you opt for a paid membership. Pricing is rather expensive. In fact, the monthly costs reach much higher than other financial services like TrendSpider or most Motley Fools offers. Nonetheless, you can save a bit of money by choosing annual billing instead of monthly. Annual billing requires an upfront payment for the entire year, but you get two months for free.

So, how does the service justify being so expensive? Well, although the educational materials offered are certainly valuable, options trade alerts are the real bread and butter of Option Strategies Insider. The “Executive” plan provides 3-6 monthly executive trade alerts, whereas the “Ultra” membership offers both the executive and 1-3 ultra trade alerts monthly. With an average return of 50% and a success rate exceeding 90%, you’re essentially paying for Option Strategies Insider to perform research for you. For investors with limited time, the convenience may be worth the high asking price.

Executive Trading Tools

Both the Executive and Ultra plans give you access to a small variety of trading tools (web plugins) that you can use, including:

  • Thinkorswim plugin - This plugin adds an IV (implied volatility) to your watchlist. Thus, allowing you to compare a stock’s current performance to its yearly highs and lows. There is also a chart version of the plugin available, which gives the data a visual representation.
  • Stock price alert - As the name suggests, this plugin will send you market alerts for your selected stocks.
  • Short put calculator - This calculator will help you determine potential discounts you may be able to receive on a stock based on daily strike and trading prices.

Option Strategies Insider Review Summary: It’s for Everyone

Although there are other options trading services (such as PowerX Optimizer) available, many of them lack the educational value, tools, and advanced alert features that you’ll receive with Option Strategies Insider. Since the platform offers a free membership—something often lacking from financial services—there isn’t even a barrier to entry. Whether you’re already trading options or hoping to start soon, we can’t recommend Option Strategies Insider enough!
