5 Ways to Increase Word-of-Mouth

Increase Word-of-Mouth

When it comes to marketing your business, it is fair to say that word-of-mouth is still one of the most effective techniques you have at your disposal. This might seem unlikely in the internet age when we have social media marketing, email lists, and SEO to help us sell our goods, but the fact is that people want to know they can trust a company before they make a purchase, and word-of-mouth gives them that confidence.

With that in mind, below you will find a number of things you can do to increase word-of-mouth marketing for your company:

  1. Sell quality

If you sell products and services that are of very high quality, then people will naturally want to sing their praises on and offline and this will mean you rack up lots of word-of-mouth sales. So, if you do nothing else, then at least make sure that you put a lot of time and energy into perfecting your products.

  1. Stickers

Stickers might seem a little bit quaint in the internet age, but they still pack a surprising punch when it comes to marketing. If one of your customers takes the time to post one of these die cut stickers on their iPad or a streetlight or whatever, then it is signaling to others that they love your business and what you do, which will at the very least, pique their interest. That is why it is never a bad idea to send a few free stickers out with all of your orders.

  1. Treat the customer like a king

Treating the customer like a king or queen is so important if you want to get in those word-of-mouth referrals. How do you do that? By going above and beyond to make their encounters with you special. From offering them fast service to giving them free gifts to ensuring they can get in touch with you promptly when they need to, anything you can do to make them feel well looked after will pay dividends.

  1. Send products to influencers

Sending out products to influencers can be a gamble, but if you choose people who you think are in your target audience, there is always a chance they will be spotted using it, or even better that they will give you a shoutout, and spread the word about how cool your products are. You can, of course, pay influencers for their services but this is much more expensive.

  1. Offer incentives

Offering incentives to customers to encourage them to leave a review will give you more word-of-mouth cache for sure. Offering them the chance to be entered into a prize draw raffle is a really simple way of doing this, so it need not cost you a whole lot of time or money, but the more reviews you have the better.

The more people who hear about your business from other people, the more likely it is you will be able to convert them into paying customers, so what are you waiting for?
